Safe Schools Mohawk Valley is a community-based organization that works with at-risk youth to keep them in school while supporting their social and emotional well-being. We are hiring part-time positions for our after-school program in Utica. It is for elementary aged students and it is open on days school is in session. Days are Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 3:45-5:45.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Engage youth in educational, recreational, and enrichment activities
- Participate with youth in activities
- Encourage youth to express themselves, teach them coping strategies and self-regulation techniques, and to feel good about themselves
- Supervise and mentor youth for health, safety, and engagement
- Assist in supervising, planning, and implementing activities for the youth in accordance with agency policies and procedures
- Establish a positive, fun, safe and supportive environment
Skills / Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with youth preferred.
- Desire to mentor and support youth
