Ever wonder what drives the work we do at Safe Schools Mohawk Valley?
This month, we’re excited to feature Anne Lansing’s appearance on the Love Living Local 315 podcast—a candid, heartfelt conversation that takes you inside our mission.
Anne shares the philosophy that guides everything we do: eliminating barriers so kids can succeed. Hear about her leap of faith that started it all, powerful stories of students she’s encountered along the way, and why Anne believes our community is unlike anywhere else she’s lived.
Whether you’re familiar with our mission or just getting to know us, this podcast offers a behind-the-scenes look at the heart of Safe Schools Mohawk Valley.
We Hit the Ground Running this Fall
If you attended a school open house this fall, chances are you ran into our team! We participated in 16 open houses across the districts we serve.
These events are vital opportunities to connect face-to-face with the families, students, and educators who make our work possible.
Attending open houses is one of our favorite ways to connect with families, students, and school staff. It’s where we build awareness about our services, strengthen partnerships with educators, and reach the families who might benefit from our support. Most importantly, it’s how we show our schools and students that we’re here, we’re invested, and we’re a reliable partner in supporting student success.
If you saw us at your school’s open house, thank you for stopping by! If we missed you, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here for you.

Teamwork in Action
We were proud to join the 15th Annual Oneida County Intergenerational Fall Clean-Up this month, where more than 600 youth volunteers came together to serve the homes of 100 local seniors.
Our Safe Schools Mohawk Valley team—including staff and Urban Leadership Institute alumni—was honored to be part of this annual community effort organized by the Oneida County Youth Bureau. Events like this truly reflect our mission to build connections, inspire youth leadership, and give back to the community we’re proud to call home.

I overcame a lot of my anxiety and frustration issues. Being able to have someone like [my case worker] to talk to has helped me. I know I have a long way to go, but her encouragement helps me as well. 9th grader
I got the part I wanted in the play and am proud that I stayed out of drama a lot these past two months. I have gotten better at using my coping skills at school. 6th grader
I’m making new friends and building back connections with my family.
