Our 2025-2026 Academic Year Annual Report
Every school year creates a story. Our 2025-2026 Annual Report is available, and it captures what happens when caring staff shows up for kids every single day.
For the 2025-2026 school year, Safe Schools Mohawk Valley served 2,941 students across 9 school districts, with 36 staff members working inside elementary, middle, and high schools throughout the region.
The results speak for themselves. Eight out of ten students improved their school behavior and engagement, and six out of ten improved their attendance and GPA. The educators who work alongside our students saw it too: 93% of in-school staff reported improved engagement, 90% saw better behavior, and 81% noted stronger attendance. Most meaningful of all, 98% of students told us that working with SSMV helped them feel better at school or with friends.
Inside the report, you’ll find a closer look at our tiered intervention services, our community-based partnerships through RIYS and the Resiliency Project, a new after-school pilot program for high school students, and the Urban Leadership Institute’s First Responder Academy, where high school students spent a week learning from local police, fire, court, and emergency services professionals. You’ll also hear directly from students, parents, teachers, and administrators about the changes they’ve seen.
CEO Anne Lansing reflects on 20 years leading Safe Schools Mohawk Valley; she shares that our work has now reached more than 35,000 students and families. That impact belongs to our staff, our school partners, and a community that believes every young person deserves the chance to succeed.
