Position Summary:

Oversee the successful operation of several after school sites for kindergarten – 12th grade.  Ensure the programs meet the expectations of the agency and the school district policies and procedures.  Programs must be safe, enriching, and student-centered.

Deputy Director of After School Programs Duties:

  • Hire, train and supervise program managers for after school sites.
  • Hire, on board and train all program staff with support from the program managers
  • Work closely with school administration to collaboratively develop and implement the after-school programs.
  • Ensure all after school sites follow school district and agency policies and procedures
  • Make sure programs are safe and secure at all times such as staff to student ratio, student and program staff are following all rules and regulations
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with school staff and district administration
  • Monitor budgets and works with the Chief Operations Officer regarding budgets for the program
  • Responsible for monthly quarterly, and annual reports
  • Liaison to all appropriate program partners working within the program
  • Ensures the effectiveness of the program and service activities
  • Responsible for the overall accountability of the after-school program, students and staff
  • Work with the school administration and personnel to ensure effective, quality, appropriate and safe programs for students
  • Assist school administration and teachers to identify appropriate student referrals to agency services, including but not limited to the after-school program
  • Collect data needed to meet the objectives and goals of the programs and agency
  • Create and maintain a knowledge base of community-based services for children and families regarding referrals to support school staff and families
  • Be available to principals and school staff for consultation and support regarding students and families
  • Work with site managers to create relevant, engaging and appropriate programming.
  • All other duties as assigned

Required Experience:

  • 3-5 years of Management Experience and must include at least 2 years of staff supervision
  • 3 years’ experience working in community-based agencies
  • Bachelors Degree in related field
  • Strong and effective writing and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Flexibility in a rapidly changing environment
  • Expertise with agency planning, project design and implementation, data analytics, and demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple processes and projects
